tudents enjoyed a late night on campus away from the books last Friday at Night at the HFAC. The all-night event featured student performances, projects, and creative work from all majors in the college. Rebecca Devonas, chair of the School of Music Student Advisory Council, believes that putting on this annual event is important to celebrate different facets of education.
“When you create something and work on it for hours a day it’s almost purposeless if you don’t have audience who can receive it and can be inspired by it,” Devonas said. “It’s a creative outlet but it’s also a place for students to share and to be enriched by each other’s talents.”
Hosting popular student groups such as Divine Comedy, Traditionz, Jazz Ensemble and Ballroom Dance Company, Night at the HFAC provided a taste of just some of the work from students across campus. The event also exhibited student projects including the Young Company’s Twelfth Night, a screening of the awarding-winning, Ram’s Horn as well as a tour of the studios including karaoke with free mp3 recordings.
