BYU School of Communications advertising students spent their summer vacations traveling, learning about advertising and getting real world experience.
Nello Pesci, Advertising
Nello spent 10 weeks this summer as an intern for a strategy and organizational consulting firm in Geneva, Switzerland. He worked on multiple projects within the firm and for external clients. The projects ranged from the development of marketing strategies to the creation of new business opportunities across Europe. While living in Switzerland, Nello traveled on the weekends and met as many “locals” as he could. Traveling was very convenient for Nello, making the experience much more memorable. As a sports fan, his favorite trip was to the French Open to see Serena Williams compete in Paris.
Meili Christianson, Advertising
This summer Meili worked for the art department at twelveNYC, a product development agency in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Meili was a junior designer for the agency and worked alongside the art director to create brand guidelines for twelveNYC. She also took product photos and created artwork for the brand’s Instagram account, and was able to create artwork for products from clients such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauder, and Laura Mercier. When Meili wasn’t working, she loved taking the train to Coney Island on the weekends where she would ride the Ferris wheel and walk along the beach.
